TV Detective Gets it Wrong

One day I was watching a CSI type TV show and the detective said the person got rid of all the files by defragging it I was actually surprised that the writers had no clue what it meant to defrag your computer. In fact when you defrag your computer you actually do the opposite of getting rid of files you actually organize all your files. This makes it easier for your computer to locate them. Shocking isn't it?

Need to uninstall a program on your PC? Always uninstall any software via the Windows control panel. Never simply delete folders or shortcuts from the desktop or program files. Doing this can seriously fragment files and slow down your computer.

The more RAM you have, the more efficient your computer will be able to run programs. Computers these days need a minimum of 2GB to run efficiently, and depending on the type of Operating System, you will need more or less. As the average user, you will want to select the standard of 2GB. RAM can range from $40-$60 depending on the brand, but it is a reasonable price for the average user.

After a computer hard drive defrag you will need to restart Windows in order to complete the process. Please be aware that Windows has only a basic disk defrag tool and you should consider buying a powerful PC software program that can deep clean your PC system.

A., did you know that rebooting your computer can also reset temporary settings that are reserved for applications that may have become tweaked in a bad way? Well it's true. Restarting your computer is good for more than solving the computer freeze. Yep, restarting your computer is pretty much a good idea everyday.

Okay, here's something that will boost your PC intel - Do a search in Google and check out a 2U server. It's most likely not something you need 2day, but it's something you didn't know huh?

The most important step you can take to help up speed up a flagging computer is to defrag the system hard disk. You can do this yourself in all recent versions of Windows that are used today including Vista, XP and new Windows 7. To defrag your computer simply find the accessories folder and then access the system tools folder. The Windows Disk Defrag utility program is located inside this along with other basic diagnosis tools. It is recommended that you defrag your PC weekly.
